A dentist surgery in Littlehampton has closed, meaning patients have had to be transferred elsewhere for treatment.
Beach Road Dental Care in Beach Road, Littlehampton, suddenly closed down recently.
An NHS England South spokesman said: “The Beach Road dental practice in Littlehampton was not able to continue providing care to local patients and has closed.
“We have taken action to make sure any NHS patients who were undergoing existing courses of treatment continue to receive the care they need, by transferring their care to another local NHS dental practice. We have written to affected NHS patients about this.”
The NHS England spokesman confirmed that ‘a handful of NHS patients who are currently undergoing dental treatment’ have been transferred to the Richard Johns Ltd dental surgery in Norfolk Road - an 11-minute walk away from the Beach Road surgery.
The spokesman added: “Other NHS patients can look on the NHS Choices website at www.nhs.uk for information about other NHS dental practices that can provide care and they can also call the local NHS dental helpline on 0300 123 1663 for further help with this.”
