The Angmering School are celebrating improved GCSE results this morning.

This year, 55 per cent of students gained at least five A* to C with English and maths.

The government’s new Progress 8 measure shows that Ellen Rose Charlesworth made the most progress in the year group and her time at Angmering, with her average results being more than 2.5 grades above expected.

David Brixey, head teacher at the Angmering school said: “I am very pleased with these GCSE results. They represent another step forward for the school but more importantly, they give great stepping stones forward for our students.

“I am proud of their hard work and commitment. I wish them well for their future studies and careers.”

Head of year, Sarah Potter added: “It’s fantastic to share in this special day with the students, the atmosphere is one of joy and happiness.

“I am incredibly proud of my year group, their work ethic and attitude have been admirable and I am so pleased their hard work has paid off.”
