Police close road in St Leonards after reports of man with knife

A road in St Leonards was closed by police after reports a man was in possession of a knife.

At about 3.55pm on Wednesday (May 20), officers were called to an address in Kings Road, St Leonards.

Police said they were responding to concerns for a man reported to be in possession of a knife.

The road was temporarily closed as officers engaged with the suspect, who was subsequently arrested on suspicion of domestic-related matters, according to a spokesman for Sussex Police.

A number of knives were seized from the property, police said.

The road has since re-opened and the suspect is in custody.

A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “We would like to thank the public for their patience and understanding.”
