FOUR members of Sussex Martlets Trampoline Club have qualified for the National League finals.
In Trampoline League 3, Zach Hughes-Burton (boys’ 13-14 age group), Josh Belchamber (boys’ 9-12) and Brooke Hassell (girls’ 11-12) have all qualified.
Josh has also qualifed in the Double Mini Trampoline League 3 for boys aged nine to 12 and Ella Lovelock has reached the finals in the girls’ 13-14 category.
Ella and Josh made the long journey to South Shields for the final National Trampoline League qualifying event last month. Both made their debut in the Double Mini Trampoline, which is a fast, explosive and exciting rebound trampoline gymnastics discipline.
Ella performed her personal best on trampoline, scoring 75.265, to finish 12th and gain 16 National League points.
Josh increased his National League points total to 96 after he performed three solid routines to secure fourth place in his age category.
The biggest success of the weekend was achieved by Ella on the DMT. She performed three solid routines and was first after the preliminary passes as she gained 100 points – the highest possible from one event. She won a bronze medal for her final passes, in her first national DMT event.
Josh finished the prelims fifth and gained 40 points.
National League points are awarded at each event for the top 24 places, with more than 800 participants across the UK and Sussex Martlets are proud that four members have qualified for the finals, which will be held in the Copper Box at the Olympic Park, London, at the end of the month.
