BEER stalls, Bavarian food, top-class racing, go-karting, a funfair, zorbing and a live Madness tribute act will all help Fontwell Park’s October festival go with a swing.
The racecourse’s popular two-day jump-racing festival takes place this Friday, October 2, and Saturday 3.
Friday sees the venue play host to a traditional-style Oktoberfest with plenty of traditional German food and beers on offer on Fuller’s Raceday.
Southern Water Saturday the folowing day will feature a host of free entertainment for children – including go-karting, a funfair, zorbing, face-painting – as well as all the Bavarian-themed fun for the adults.
There will be a Madness tribute act on after racing, followed by live action from the Rugby World Cup, where England take on Australia.
Southern Water will use the event to raise funds for two local charities, the Rockinghorse children’s charity based in Brighton, which works to improve the lives of sick children, and The Rainbow Centre in Hampshire, which supports children and young people with cerebral palsy.
Saturday will also include the annual mascot race.
With more than £100,000 in total prize money over the two days, the festival is sure to attract some thrilling racing action.
Kids under 18 get in free.
Simon Williams, Fontwell Park executive director, said:“We’ve really put on a show this year for our two-day festival. With so many activities and entertainment alongside the racing and live music, there will be something for everyone to enjoy over the weekend.”
