EAST PRESTON and Littlehampton football clubs have mutually agreed to play their FA Cup extra-preliminary round tie at East Preston on Sunday, August 16.

The match will kick-off at The Lashmar at 3pm and EP football chairman Terry Doyle explained: “As soon as we knew the draw, we realised this was a great local derby which should draw a big crowd.

“We noted Littlehampton had recently played FA Cup games on a Sunday with increased gates and we were delighted they agreed without hesitation to the switch.

“We hope this will not only allow more fans of both clubs to attend but also attract a good number of neutrals.”

Elsewhere in the extra-preliminary round, Arundel will entertain Raynes Park Vale on August 15 and Wick & Barnham United will travel to Horley Town.

The winners of the local derby between EP and Golds will host Thamesmead in the preliminary round on August 29.

Mullets will travel to Hailsham or Eastbourne United if they overcome Raynes Park, while Wick will be away to Shoreham or St Francis Rangers if they beat Horley.

East Preston’s under-18s are seeking players. Anyone interested can contact Martin Bishop on 07930 221782 or Lee Stratford on 07864 985335.
