LITTLEHAMPTON Football Club boss George Gaskin has had a busy first pre-season as manager.

He took over as Golds’ player-manager in May, the week after Mark Bennett had guided Littlehampton to the Sussex County League title.

Golds began pre-season training on Thursday and 15 players have already signed on for the upcoming season.

George Landais, who netted 40 goals last season, penned a one-year contract in May, while Mitchell Hand, Ross McKay, Shay Wiggans, Scott Packer, Jon Hendrick, Liam Humphreys, Dean Janman, Jack Williamson and Ryan Bell have also signed on.

Goalkeeper Jordan Matthews has also joined from Wick & Barnham, Ben Gray and Danny Hand have returned to the club from East Preston, Brad Curtis has signed from EP and Peter Beadle is back from university.

Darren Boswell has left the club to team up with his former East Preston manager Dominic Di Paola at Horsham, and Kieron Pamment has also joined the Hornets.

Midfielder Dan Swain has also left Golds to join Pagham.

Gaskin said: “We’ve signed a lot of players on already and we’re not going to enter the league to just make the numbers up.

“There will probably be five teams challenging at the top and a couple will run away from the pack but time will tell.

“I’m more than happy with the squad I’ve got here.”
