EAST Preston Football Club head coach Paul Ettridge praised his side’s performance at Horsham YMCA on Tuesday evening but was left disappointed with the 5-4 defeat.

It was the fourth time this season that EP have lost by the odd goal and Ettridge said: “It was another improved performance and, although I was disappointed with the result, I wasn’t disappointed with the performance.

“Three of their goals came from set-pieces and that was what cost us.

“We kept going until the end and, hopefully, points aren’t too far away.”

Alfie Gritt gave EP the lead on seven minutes but YM hit back to lead 2-1 by the 19th minute with goals from Liam Hunter and Daniel Sullivan.

Ryan Hallett made it 2-2 but Sullivan put YM back ahead a minute into the second half.

Goals from Matthew Crane and Sullivan, to complete his hat-trick, moved YM 5-2 ahead just past the hour.

Gritt struck twice more to complete his hat-trick with 19 minutes to go but the hosts held on for all three points.
