FOOTBALL: Clayton sends Wick into another quarter-final

WICK Football Club continued their superb cup form on Saturday when they recorded an excellent 1-0 win at Eastbourne UA, where they had lost 6-0 in the league earlier in the season.

Wick will now host Shoreham in the last eight of the Sussex RUR Cup, but before that they have a home John O'Hara Cup quarter-final replay with Seaford on Tuesday.

Wick's Phil Turner hit the bar in the first half before Wick keeper Alex Bryant made three excellent saves.

Wick manager Carl Stabler said: "I was very pleased, we played well, defended well and worked very hard. They are reigning champions and a very good side, so it's a good win."

WICK: Bryant; Torode, N.Murfin, Sharman, Buckland; Turner, Pearce, Clayton, Barnard; Huggett, S.Murfin. Subs: Gaskin (Huggett 70), More, Wrigley.
