Southlanders the community group based in Southlands Ward would like to let it be known that despite the reference to them by candidates in the local elections.
Southlanders are not a political group and do not wish to be used in election campaigns.
Support from the council has always been on the basis of Southlanders submitting funding bids and no favouritism has been given to them by the council.
Southlanders would also like to state that they are not the ‘residents group’ to which one of the candidates refers to having been a chairman of.
Southlanders would ask that all candidates in local elections refrain from using them in their campaign literature.
Southlanders remains a group open to all and is not political or religious.
