Parliament and Brussels breaking up for the summer must not be used as an excuse for the leading Leavers to dodge the hard questions that will come up over the next six weeks.
Their contemptible back pedalling should stop and they should all be held accountable for claims made during the referendum.
That said, just because they dragged us out of Europe, they should not be the only ones to clear up the mess.
The three Brexiteers in charge of our withdrawal would do the country a great disservice if they assume that their 52 per cent win gives them the right to ignore everyone else and do as they please.
It is only by considering views from the entire political spectrum that we can start pushing for a deal that works for everyone.
