LETTER: Duck success

Arundel Lions Club would like to thank the residents, their friends and visitors for the generosity and enthusiastic support for the Arundel Festival Duck Race held on Bank Holiday Monday.

This year’s event was an outstanding success with all 2,000 tickets being sold, the last few just half an hour before the start of the race.

The winning duck, with a prize of £100, had been purchased by Jenny Paul, from East Preston.

The event raised £1,700 for a very deserving cause, the Chestnut Tree House Children’s Hospice, and the Bognor Regis Friends Group, chaired by Paula Puleston, helped the Lions in staging this year’s event.

Our thanks also go to the Arun Divers who were again on hand to identify the first three ducks past the finishing line and to collect the stragglers.

John Taylor

president, Arundel Lions Club
