Having trains with no conductors is madness

I don’t know whether it is too late to add my views to those currently expressed regarding trains without guards.

We already have to check our groceries out ourselvees at the supermarket counters, thus doing good folks out of their livelihoods in carrying out this work (although I am still able to use a good shop which carriers on the ‘old way’).

Are we to be live robots and told what we can do? And do we go to it like zombies?

The thought of travelling in trains with no conductor is totally abhorrent to me. I have seen bad conduct with unruly passengers not only anti social behaviour but dangerously so.

To then not have anyone to call on – to instruct with any accidents, break downs or even suicides on the line is actually madness.

If it means paying more for our wonderful train service (with its conductors), then I for one will endorse that. I find the folk who provide this to be kind, helpful and informative.
