Are you in this photo? Pam Robinson was eight when she appeared in this picture in the Worthing Herald in 1943 – and now aged 81, she wants to get back in touch with her friends.
Pictured left to right, in the back row are Rita Tarr and Rita Huggins and in the front are Edna Knight, Janet Lelliott, Pam and John Knight.
The group, all from Shandon Road in Worthing, raised money for two British prisoners of war in German hands by organising a neighbourhood bric-a-brac sale and a concert.
“We managed to raise 10 or 11 pounds, which was quite a lot of money in those days,” Pam said.
“I hope it jogs people’s memories.”
She moved to Southend in 1947, but has fond memories of living in Worthing and likes to visit when she can.
“I love to come back and stop off at the seafront, and visit the downs. I used to walk along the downs even during the war with no problems at all.”
