Two men in drifting boat rescued by RNLI

Littlehampton RNLI rescued two men at sea yesterday afternoon (November 11) after their boat had broken down and was drifting on the tide.

The call was made from one of the men after 1.30pm who told RNLI they had broken down.

The lifeboat, with volunteer crew on-board, set off at 1.36pm to the scene, which was one mile due south of the Littlehampton Harbour Board entrance.

The crew rigged a tow line to the boat, which was then taken under tow and returned safely to its moorings, a spokesperson from RNLI confirmed.

The lifeboat returned to the station at 2.29pm.
