The housebuilder has been working with Littlehampton Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club for two years and made the £1,000 donation to allow its Littlehampton Isolated Veterans Support (LIVeS) project to continue.

The project was originally funded by the Armed Forces Convenant Fund Trust for six months to provide assistance to veterans affected by Covid-19.

Ian Neville, club chairman, said: “The LIVeS project has allowed the club to provide increased support for our veterans over the last six months, suppling main meals and additional shopping on a weekly basis – and have spent nearly £19,000 supporting vulnerable veterans.

“It is clear that Covid-19 will continue to impact our lives for more months to come, meaning that LIVeS is still necessary for our local veterans community.

“The project will be entirely dependent on generous donations from the new year and we are grateful to Barratt Southern Counties for playing a part in supporting our efforts.”

Barratt is behind the Kingley Gate development in Littlehampton and the grant comes from its community fund, designed to support nearby projects.

Lynnette St-Quintin, sales and marketing director, said: “After initially meeting with members of the Armed Forces and Veterans Breakfast Club in 2018, we have worked closely to support the club over the last two years.

“The club provides year-round vital support to its members and has worked tirelessly to increase this help throughout Covid-19, which has been a challenging time for so many.

“We really hope this small donation is a help in the very worthwhile work that the club is doing.”
