Free seeds available to Littlehampton residents
To celebrate The Littlehampton Town Show and Family Fun Day taking place on September 11 at Rosemead Park, the town show committee is encouraging people to get planting by giving away a selection of vegetable and flower seeds.
They are available to people living in BN16 and BN17 postcodes on a first-come, first-served basis. To obtain seeds and be added to their newsletter list email your name and address to [email protected]
Alan Humphrey, show manager, said: “It’s good news that the show is planned to go ahead so long as the current situation improves. To help with entries we propose to give a few seeds away to members of the public.
“I know from my own experience that looking around flower shows in the past and you think I can do better but I just needed a little push to take the plunge and enter so now is the chance to do just that with a few free seeds that correspond to various classes from the schedule.
“Good luck to all and remember you can always ask for advice from Members of the Town Show Committee.”
Pete Buckley, chairman, added: “This year more than any other I think the general public need an event such as this to give the opportunity for the community to come together and enjoy a day out together. To enjoy the sun, the smiles, the laughter and share in a day together.
“The supply of a few free seeds will hopefully be the little nudge required to get involved in submitting an entry or more into the Town Show. Buy more seeds (they are relatively cheap) and experience the fun of taking part.”
The Schedule for the 2021 show should be printed in the coming weeks and will be available to pick up locally and to view on the group’s website.
