Elaine Burrows and Jude Walsh, organisers of the vaccination hub at Angmering Community Centre, were chosen by Morrisons to win prizes of prosecco, chocolates and a planter of flowers.

They were nominated by Alison Whitburn, community champion at Morrisons Littlehampton, who has been delivering treats to the hub as a thank you to the volunteers.

She said: “All community champions in the business were given the chance to nominate women in the community for International Women’s Day.

“Many customers and colleagues have had their vaccinations at at Angmering Community Centre and have all said they are amazing and well organised.

“There were only 30 winners from the company and they won one! When I took them their treats, everyone came out and applauded them, it brought a tear to my eye. It was wonderful.

“Morrisons wanted to celebrate the achievements and contributions of women in our business and local community - so a big thank you to all of them.”

The hub is where Angmering Medical Centre is carrying out the Covid-19 vaccination. The move to this larger venue allowed the team to expand their clinics, with a dedicated team of staff and volunteers.
