Littlehampton Shopmobility are looking for a new treasurer/trustee

Littlehampton Shopmobility exists to ensure that people with mobility problems will enjoy their shopping experience and help to maintain their independent lives through the hire and sale of wheelchairs and scooters and the sale of items to improve the quality of life of those with a disability.

They are looking for a treasurer to use the SAGE system, bank monies, attend four to six weekly board meetings with a report on the finances and to attend AGM with all the relevant paperwork and answer any questions from members as required.

You will also be asked to volunteer in the shop one morning a week, so the time commitment would be approximately four hours a week.

Worthing Churches Homeless Project provides a range of services for adults who are homeless and insecurely housed, which includes a day centre providing crisis support, accommodation projects, a breakfast club, an outreach café, homelessness prevention, resettlement and various activities that empower individuals in their recovery journey out of homelessness.

More volunteers are needed to help in their charity ship in Littlehampton.

Tasks will include: assisting staff in the daily running of the charity shop, serving customers using an electronic till and card payment machine, helping to create a warm and friendly shopping environment for customers, receiving donations from the public in a polite manner, sorting and pricing items, cleaning and polishing bric-a-brac, steaming and ironing clothing and pricing items.

Impact Initiatives support people with Asperger’s Syndrome in West Sussex and are involved in the planning and development of services through setting up and running an Asperger’s syndrome self-advocacy group, enabling members to gain peer support through the sharing of experiences.

A volunteer is required to help support at a monthly meeting in Barnham (approximately two hours) for 15 members with Asperger’s.

The role would involve: meeting new members who are nervous about joining the group at the railway station prior to their first meeting; supporting group members to make conversation with each other as many members find ‘small talk’ difficult; supporting the group facilitator in dealing with difficult dynamics between members should they arise (for example talk to a member of the group that is upset in a quiet area away from the meeting); and supporting group members in setting up and clearing away at the end of the meeting and supporting members in making drinks in the break.

Age UK is the new force combining Age Concern and Help the Aged and its vision is of a world in which older people flourish.

Its aim is to help more people than ever before enjoy a better later life.

More volunteers are needed to contribute towards the provision of a county-wide information and advice service for older people by delivering face-to-face appointments in the home.

This service is for people that are unable to access the service in any other way through venerability or disability.

You will need to be able to provide a range of information to older people, their families and carers, assist with filling in application forms, and look at options for housing, energy comparison and consumer issues.

You will ensure that the client has all the appropriate information so they can make informed decisions.
