Thanks for all the support

Sincere thanks to all those voters who voted for me in the General Election.

Your trust and support is really appreciated and has not gone unrecognised.

It takes an act of courage and trust to vote for a Liberal alternative when in your heart of hearts you know that a Conservative will get the job locally. We can change the system if we have the political will through proportional representation which gives equal status to everyone’s vote. People have to recognise that we are an honest party and won’t offer false hope in return for votes. That’s why we offered the solution of 1p in the pound increase on income tax to save the NHS from privatisation.

Facts like poverty and mental health, and issues in the NHS are sometimes uncomfortable but we all must be aware that there isn’t a free lunch – everything comes at a price to someone else. That person could be you.

The Government which has just been elected will cease to give grants to local councils in 2018. Where will the money for services come from? It will come from higher council tax and higher business rates which will impact on our shops and food prices.

I will continue to fight for your rights and to improve your quality of life.
