ST BARNABAS: Exciting events at the Day Hospice with plenty more to come in the next fortnight

September has been a busy month at St Barnabas House, particularly for our Day Hospice team who have organised a series of exciting events with lots more still to come.

Last week we were paid a special visit by Hogsback Chapter, a group of Harley Davidson riders who rode down from Guildford to show off their classic motorcycles to some of the patients.

It is the third time they have visited the hospice, and it was a wonderful experience for the patients, bringing back memories of their younger years.

This week is “cruise week” in the Day Hospice and the team have arranged a series of themed days based around cultures from different countries.

Later this month, we will be holding the latest of our MyLife events.

Tasty Pics is an evening session of fruits and still life photography.

For more information or to book your place at this event, please contact the Day Hospice team on 01903 796378 or email: [email protected].

Finally, I am excited to announce we will be piloting a new project called St B’s, in collaboration with schools from across the local area.

The St B’s project will allow patients and children to work collaboratively on a piece of art, introducing hospice care to children in a non-threatening environment and enabling them to explore concepts around life, death and dying.

Storrington First School are excited to be the first school in West Sussex to offer such an innovative experience to their students.
