PEOPLE were able to learn more about a Ford coffee company’s commitment to recycling at its recent open day.
Edgcumbes hosted the open day as an official launch of its coffee roastery and take-away shop, and the day also marked its first weekend of opening.
Visitors were shown the company’s sustainable and environmental use of coffee waste and many took bags of coffee chaff, a by-product of coffee roasting, home for compost.
The ‘Recycle, Re-use, Really good tea and coffee’ scheme was also promoted, where customers buy a tin of coffee or tea and then receive a ten per cent discount when it is refilled.
Zara Brazil, from Edgcumbes, said: “We have been overwhelmed with genuine interest from the public in our commitment to recycling. Our tea and coffee is all available in refillable bags and tins to save on waste.”
EDGE, Edgcumbes’ new roastery, at The Old Barn, Ford Lane, is open Monday to Friday, 7.30am to 4pm, plus Saturday and Sunday, 9am to 1pm.
