A FLOOD alert has been issued for western parts of Littlehampton.
The Environment Agency is warning of potential flooding in Rope Walk, along the west bank of the River Arun, due to high tide later this evening.
An agency spokesman warned: “At high tide tonight (Friday, February 20 February), the tide level in Littlehampton is expected to be high.
“Water could affect boatyards and the industrial areas along Littlehampton Rope Walk.
“Tide levels will be high up slipways and water may back up through the drains.”
The agency expects that subsequent tides throughout the weekend will also be high, with a second surge expected on Monday.
