HOODED burglars who used a pick axe to smash through the patio door of a property in Angmering were interrupted by the home’s owner, police have said.

Officers received a call yesterday morning (February 16), shortly before 9.30am, that two men had attempted to break into a home in Station Road.

The resident heard a knock on the door to the property. Shortly after the patio door was smashed and two men were witnessed at the rear of the home.

Nothing was stolen from the house.

The men as being in their 20s, wearing light coloured hoodies. Both were of a big build with one of the men having dark wavy hair and a darker complexion.

Police believe the pick axe used to break the door was from taken from the shed.

Witnesses or those with information about the crime are now being urged to call police on 101, quoting serial 0281 16/02/15.
