A talented chef from Arundel has stormed her way to the grand final of the Sussex Food & Drink Awards.
Laura Sylvester wowed the judges and thousands of food lovers at the first ever Sussex Street Food competition held in Lewes on Sunday with a range of tantalising dishes from her Boca Loco food van.
Boca Loco was one of three street food vendors to reach the final, alongside Jah Jyot Punjabi from Southwater and The Troll’s Pantry from Brighton.
The three winners were picked from ten finalists after a strict judging process, led by Masterchef: The Professionals winner Steven Edwards, supported by votes from the public.
Laura said: “I was absolutely over the moon to get to the final ten, let alone the final three.
“We have Pallant of Arundel to thank for the original vote and all our friends and family for their support.”
The three finalists will now take part in the tenth Sussex Food & Drink Awards on January 28, 2016.
Hilary Knight, co-director of Natural Partnerships CIC, organisers of the awards, said: “This is the first ever Sussex Street Food of the Year competition, but it has proved so popular that we will continue it as part of the annual awards next year.”
