Surge in patients and recruitment struggles caused practice to slip, GPs say

GPs in charge of a practice put in special measures blamed a spike in patients from a closing surgery and struggles to recruit medical staff for slipping standards.

Fitzalan Medical Group, which has surgeries in Fitzalan Road, Littlehampton, and Clun Road, Wick, was rated ‘inadequate’ by the Care Quality Commission (CQC) following a visit in December.
