Teaming up with her brother Kevin Hurst and his girlfriend Eleana Sanford in Barcelona, Sally wrote Where Ya Wanna Be to give hope and reflect a positive message during the coronavirus pandemic.

The video accompanying the song on YouTube shows some of her beach art, which she creates for her Shoreline Sally page on Facebook.

Sally, who lives in Rustington, said: “We’re just paying forward and saying thank you to the NHS. We hope you like it.

“I’ve been leaving cheerful messages and sand drawings on the stretch of beach I run to every day during lockdown.”

The lockdown sessions were recorded at Sally’s home in Rustington, Kevin’s home in East Preston and Eleana’s home in Barcelona.

Sally is known for her beach sculptures made from natural things, which she photographs and leaves to wash away with the tide.

Before lockdown, she made her beach art pictures all along the Sussex coast but in the past few months, she has been using only her local stretch of beach in Rustington, leaving messages and drawings for people to find during their daily exercise.

She said she and Kevin had often enjoyed the beach as a family.

Sally said: “That’s where we all want to be but for now, thanks to the internet, Kev and I have made this song, together with Eleana playing piano, to remind us of good times gone by and to look forward to those ahead.”

Sally has performed in some of London’s most prestigious music venues, such as The Royal Festival Hall, St Martin’s In The Field and The Barbican.
