While the first wave over the summer did not hit our county as hard as other areas in the country, a new, more contagious variant of the virus originating in the South East over the winter saw cases skyrocket.

Nowhere has there been a more stark contrast than Hastings, which boasted one of the lowest infection rates in the country over the summer and one of the highest over the winter.

This gallery shows how many confirmed cases, according to Public Health England, each area of Sussex has had since recording began on March 13, 2020, as of January 18.
