The Blue Dragon NCS group helped to redecorate the community centre and create planting and play areas outside.

The work was part of the social action element of the National Citizen Service scheme for teenagers aged 15 to 17.

The group worked at the centre, off Clun Road, Wick, all week then held an open day and coffee morning on Friday to show residents what they had achieved.

Casey Coomber, 15, said: “It went really well and they said we made a big improvement.

“We made a whole vegetable patch, where they are going to plant potatoes and smaller vegetables. Inside, we decorated the ceiling in the main room and completely painted two offices.”
