THE company who run leagues at Worthing Leisure Centre on Sunday, Monday and Wednesday will not be raising its match fees - and is offering free kit and free entry in a bid to make it easier for more teams to join the leagues.
As the cost of food, fuel and drink continue to rise everywhere the organisers of Worthing's Premier football league are offering a pledge not to put prices up. They reckon they will be offering cheaper nights out than could be found elsewhere.

Throughout September, new teams who sign up to the award-winning Leisure Leagues – by Europe's largest provider of small sided football - can cash in with more than £100 of free gifts.

Explaining the move, Leisure Leagues executive director Stephanie Bullock said: "We know that it is a difficult time for everyone, and that the long-talked about 'credit crunch' is starting to bite.

"Increasingly, people are looking for something cheap and fun to do, and maybe want to keep fit but can't afford expensive gym memberships. Joining the Worthing league, could be just what they are looking for.

"The free-kit and entry scheme provides a big saving, and the teams will at least look like superstars, even if they don't play like them."

The adult league is open to anyone over the age of 16, and is officiated by a United Kingdom Independent Football Federation (UKIFF) referee, and all equipment is provided. Stephanie added: "All we ask of everyone in our leagues is to turn up, pay and enjoy themselves."

The winners and runners up in the league will be offered the chance to represent Worthing in Leisure Leagues' acclaimed National Cup Competition, which is held at venues across the Midlands.

Deputy senior manager Lee Wilcox, who oversees the finals day, said: "A team from the Leisure Centre came close last time, so who knows, the winners might be from right here."

Leisure Leagues is the only league operator who commits to giving all its profits to National Charities and environmentally sustainable projects – and has recently received praise for this from Prince Charles.

The free kit, free entry offer is strictly limited so anyone who wants more information should ring 0845 230 2340 or register online at the first ever interactive website in small sided football at www.leisureleagues.net
