LANCING Football Club came from behind three times to grab a draw with Crawley Down on Tuesday (October 14).
Lancers got their last equaliser with a minute to go when Joe Howard dived to head home Adam Spragg's deep cross.
Moments beforehand, Howard had seen a header rebound off the post and Lancing were wondering if it was going to be their day.
Craw
ley Down had taken the lead through Mark Saunders after 15 minutes, but Lancing levelled on 26 minutes when Adam Burton, with the outside of his boot, brilliantly lobbed Down's keeper from 25 yards.
A mistake by Lancing keeper Steve Udall then gifted Down the lead in first-half injury-time. Udall's pass was incepted by Mo Shuga'a, who rolled the ball into the empty net.
Lancers again levelled 11 minutes after half-time. Scott Hunt's header from Darren Boswell's corner was brilliantly saved but Dan Griffin turned in the rebound.
However, within two minutes, Lancing overplayed at the back and Darren Tidey took advantage to fire Down 3-2 ahead.
Down then changed to a 5-4-1 formation, and Lancing countered that with 3-4-3 and bossed proceedings until they were rewarded with Howard's late point-saver.
Lancing assistant boss Martyn Rea said: "It was a very good point. We were super in the second half, and showed a lot of character to come from behind three times."
