IRISH Super League star teams will meet Worthing Thunder's new BBL team and London Leopards of the EBL at the Leisure Centre in a special pre-season tournament on September 13.
Irish 2007 champions and 2008 finalists Killester and play-offs semi-finalists Neptune, from Cork, have been invited to what will be Thunder's first hosted international tournament.
The prize will be the Thunder Cup and doors will open at 1pm for a 2pm tip-off. There will be a 3rd-4th game and the final will be at 8pm. Admission will be £3 across the board.
Between matches, Thunder hope to organise a wheelchair basketball match and a three-point shot competition.
Thunder head of coaching Gary "Chicken" Smith said: "This tournament should set us up nicely. This is an exciting prospect for the team, ahead of the challenge of competing in the BBL for the first time.
"Whoever we play will be a tough match-up and just what we need, to get us focused on the task we have ahead of us in the coming months. It gives the players a chance to put the things we do in practice into the game situation, and to show me that they are ready for the likes of Plymouth and Newcastle, who will be coming to the Thunderdome in the first two weeks of the regular season."
