A man has been left with a broken jaw after he disturbed two men who were trying to take his bicycle in Worthing.
Police were called to Church Walk at 7.25pm on Tuesday (October 7) following a report of a serious assault.
They say the victim, a 34 year old man, suffered a broken jaw as a result of being punched by two unknown offenders who he had disturbed taking his pedal cycle from outside of his address.
The victim is currently undergoing surgery at St Richard's Hospital in Chichester.
Police are treating the attack and unprovoked and are appealing for witnesses.
The first offender is described as male, white, aged 21 to 23, of slim build, about 6ft tall with short fair hair and blue eyes. He was wearing a dark top.
The second attacker was a Chinese male with short dark black hair, aged 16 to 17, of slim build. He was wearing a white t-shirt, a black baseball cap and black tracksuit trousers.
