Herald reader and budding photographer Jack Riley sent in these photographs of flowers and insects after a visit to Highdown Gardens.
Jack said: "These are a couple of photographs which I took last week whilst on a trip up Highdown Gardens to help produce a photography Portfolio.
"The gardens are beautiful at this time of year. Especially when the sun is out.
"As you can see in my photographs I tried my best to get up close and personal with the wildlife - all kinds of insects, flies, bees and Dragonflies.
"In the photograph of the Dragonfly, I spent at least an hour trying to capture the perfect photograph for my portfolio, but mainly for my girlfriend who loves dragon flies.
"I'm happy with the result, my girlfriend loves the photograph. But it just shows that if you're dedicated to something and put time and effort into something you really want, then one day you might just get it."
Jack, 20, studied A level photgraphy when he attended Worthing Sixth Form College two years ago.
"The subject progressed into a passion and now all I ever want to do is take my camera out and try to build a portfolio.
"Hopefully one day I'll open up a studio with a small gallery inside for everyone to see."
