THOUSANDS of people gathered on Worthing beach to watch the first stage of the Worthing Birdman competition.
But it was a different story on the second day, as Herald chief photographer Stephen Goodger's photographs show.

There is hope for anyone who would still like to experience Birdman this year.

Any Birdmen desperate to fly in competition this summercan still take part in Ilfracombe Birdman in Devon.

The event takes place on Sunday, August 3.
