Remembering seaside pleasures at Littlehampton

SUMMER snaps are needed to recreate holiday fun of old for a modern audience.

Littlehampton Museum has launched an appeal for photographs epitomising a typical seaside holiday at the resort down the years, for a new exhibition opening in July.

The museum is interested in photos of donkey rides, crazy golf, beach barbecues and any other outdoor fun for the display, which aims to trace the evolution of summer holidays in the town.

Pictures or postcards, with a small caption explaining what’s happening in the shot can be emailed to museum@littlehampton-tc.gov.uk

Alternatively, they can be taken to the museum at the Manor House, in Church Street. Staff would also welcome the loan of seaside souvenirs.

Deadline for submissions is Tuesday, June 4.

“This looks to be a brilliant exhibition,” said Alan Gammon, chairman of the town council’s community resources committee.

“I urge you all to have a look through your old photos at home and be part of the display.”
