It’s day two of Glorious and that means it’s Qatar Sussex Stakes day.

The £1m race has been hotl-anticipated since the new prize money was announced last Christmas, and now its time has come.

Even the absence of Aidan O’Brien’s champion three-year-old miler Gleneagles can do little to detract from what should be a great spectacle.

French-trained Solow, who has a string of Group 1 successes to his name here and abroad, is the odds-on favourite as he takes on the likes of Arod and Night of Thunder.

But that’s just one of seven races set to thrill a big crowd on the South Downs.
