LITTLEHAMPTON Town Football Club edged closer to the County League title with a 3-0 victory at Broadbridge Heath this afternoon.

The Golds now need to match Dorking Wanderers result on the final day to be crowned champions.

Wanderers secured a 6-0 home victory over Hailsham but Littlehampton’s latest success means they remain top on goal difference.

The visitors were awarded a penalty after George Landais was brought down in the penalty area by Dan Attwater in an off-the-ball incident on 30 minutes.

Landais stepped up and slammed home the resulting spot-kick to put his side ahead.

Golds had to wait until 12 minutes after the break to secure their second.

Liam Humphreys saw his strike parried by Elliott Flack and Joe Shelley slammed home the rebound.

Landais then bagged his second on 62 minutes to ensure all three points for the table-toppers.

Darren Boswell squared for the frontman who rifled a shot past Flack to net his 29th league goal of the season.

Littlehampton end their season with a home game against Newhaven, while Dorking Wanderers travel to Arundel.
