EAST PRESTON Football Club fell to their second league defeat of the season on Tuesday evening when they conceded four goals in the opening 20 minutes of the second half.
The defeat to Eastbourne Town saw EP drop two places to fourth in the County League Division 1 table, while Town climbed up to second.
East Preston boss Sammy Donnelly admitted his side were beaten by the better team and said: “Eastbourne Town are a very good side and will be near the top of the table come the end of the season and could well win it.
“But it is always going to be difficult for us when we have a different line-up each week. It’s a really tough job at the moment and any positive result we can get is a bonus.
“I am working hard to get players into the club permanently but it is really tough with 13 games of the season already gone.”
Eastbourne took the lead a minute after the interval when Liam Upton pounced on a mistake.
Sean Kelly made it 2-0 eight minutes later, before Matt McLean got the third on 57 minutes.
Dom Clarke then got Eastbourne’s fourth with 25 minutes still left on the clock.
Shaun Charles did manage to pull a goal back with five minutes left for EP but that proved to be just a consolation.
