TWO local sides are in action against teams from the Hellenic League Premier Division in the second round of the FA Vase on Saturday.

East Preston, who reached the last 16 last year, are at home to Flackwell Heath, while Littlehampton travel to Abingdon United.

Flackwell are tenth in their table with 28 points from 13 games and EP boss Sammy Donnelly said: “It’s a lovely competition to be involved in and I’m looking forward to the game.

“They are going well in their league, so it’s going to be a very difficult game.

“I’m hoping to watch them this week, if I can, to find out a bit more about them.”

Littlehampton travel to Abingdon, who are third from bottom with 12 points from 17 matches and are winless in nine home league games.

Golds boss Mark Bennett said: “As long as we go there and do our best, that’s all we can do.

“It’s a special competition for Littlehampton because of our history in it, so it’s up to the players to get up for it.”

Golds will be without the cup-tied trio of Josh Clack, Mark Zydonik and Will Conway for the game.

The winners receive £1,200 prize-money. Any replays will take place next week.
