Dicker and Painter on course for end of season comeback

Brighton are close to being back to full strength after long-term absentees Gary Dicker and Marcos Painter came through a reserve team run-out unscathed.

Influential Irish midfield string-puller Dicker has been out of action for five months after breaking a leg during a match earlier in the season and the Seagulls have missed his composure in the centre of the park.

Earlier this week though Dicker, and left back Painter, both managed 45 minutes during an encouraging 4v1 friendly win over a Tottenham Hotspurs team.

Brighton’s goals came from Roland Bergkamp, young goal-grabber George Baker and double from Seagulls starlet Jake Forster-Caskey.

Only former player of the year Tommy Elphick remains on the long-term injured list at the Amex, as Gus Poyet prepares his charges for an end of season play off push.
