It's a win and a loss for Burpham Stoolball Club

BURPHAM Stoolball Club started their Chanctonbury League season with a seven-run win over Barns Green.
Batting first, Barns Green scored 131-3 from their 12 overs. Sandra Turner top-scored with 57 before she was one of Jacqui Bowles' two wickets.

In reply, Burpham struck 138-2. Sue Boxall hit 44, Julie Tester 36, Linda White 35 not out, and Hannah Tomlinson six not out.

But Burpham lost their Chanctonbury League Cup match, the competition they won last year, to Pulborough.

Burpham scored 106-4 off their 12 overs. Linda White top-scored with 46 not out, and Tester hit 26.

But Pulborough then got home by two runs, on 108-7. Sarah Howells struck 37, with Bowles taking 5-56 off six overs for Burpham.
