CLYMPING Cricket Club were knocked back off the top of the Invitation League on Saturday by Broadwater.
Clymping had moved ahead of Broadwater last week, but Broadwater's sixth successive win, at home to Selsey on Saturday, moved them 12 points clear of Clymping with a game in hand.
But Clymping are now 60 points ahead of third-placed Horsham Trinity.
James Salisbury, the Clymping skipper with Gareth Challen unavailable, said: "It was a real run fest, and a great game for the neutral, but it was frustrating because we needed to win."
Bottom-club Wisborough Green won the toss and stuck Clymping into bat, who then smashed 256-7 from 42.3 overs. Aussie Andrew Danson crashed 77, Andrew Dick hit 69 and Kim Dean struck 52.
Green responded with 235-8 from 51 overs. Martin Hopkins scored an excellent 136, and Danson took four wickets for 66 runs.
Salisbury said: "We declared early to give ourselves more time to bowl them out, but Martin Hopkins batted really well.
"At one stage, it looked as though they would win. But we took a couple of wickets, started to look comfortable, and then thought we could get the win."
