FOOTBALL players at Davison High School have experienced a memorable day at the David Beckham Academy.
The year eight and nine football team at the school in Selborne Road, East Worthing, was invited along to the London academy for a day of coaching, sports journalism, nutrition and physiotherapy.

The trip was funded by the National Schools Programme.

Adam Clayton, football coach and geography teacher, said: "The facilities, coaching and location were overwhelming and so was the conduct, application, knowledge and skill of our students.

"There were team competitions against girls and boys, which included both a physical and mental element, and in most cases, against more than 100 students, Davison students came either first or second."

A special award for the student who showed the most ability, commitment, encouragement of team mates and all-round excellence went to 11-year-old Paula Howells, who is in year seven.
