FABRIC shop proprietor Ivor Holland lifted the thin veil of mystery separating the material world from the spirit world.
Ivor, who owns Quality Textiles in Surrey Street, Littlehampton, discovered he was a natural psychic medium a few years ago when a former member of the Most Haunted TV show team, Derek Acorah, told him so.

He decided to join the College of Psychic Studies in London, to improve his skills.

"I've known all my life that there was something there, but I didn't know exactly what it was."

It was when Derek Acorah went to film in his shop that Ivor found out the truth about his gift.

"He told me I was born a medium."

According to Ivor, he could then start communicating with the spirits in his shop that, although not the holder of the title of Littlehampton's most haunted building, apparently had plenty of paranormal activity.

"I can talk to the spirits here all the time, but most of them have already left this building," he said.

At least, not after he claimed to have released the ones that were grounded there.

"The Dolphin public house is the most haunted building in the area," Ivor pointed out.

The premises where Ivor runs his business, believed to have been constructed in around 1740, is currently being studied by a group of psychics.

Its first owner was a tailor called William Dyer, whom, according to Ivor, received a visit from Queen Victoria once, when she was staying at Arundel Castle and needed to have her cape repaired.

Ivor is offering to check people's homes for spirits.

For more information, telephone him on 01903 726316.
