A 17-year-old youth has been charged with attempted robbery after a woman was threatened with an ‘imitation handgun’ in Wick, police have said.
A spokesman for Sussex Police said: “A 21-year old woman was walking along the dog walk between Colebrook Road, Wick and the A259, between 6.05pm and 6.15pm on Friday (March 25) when a suspect threatened her with what appeared to be an imitation handgun and demanded any property she had.
“She refused and the suspect ran off.”
Officers said the offender was described as white, 6’0’’, wearing grey jogging bottoms and a grey hooded top.
Detective Sergeant Simon Smith said; “We would like to contact anyone who may have seen either the offence, or the offender running off in the direction of Morrisons Supermarket.
“We would also like to speak to anyone who has any other information about the case.”
