Thanks to young man who helped when elderly woman fell

Have your say

Recently, I went shopping in Worthing town centre.

I had just visited Debenhams and had crossed the road to go to Beales when I tripped on the uneven pavements.

I cut and bruised my head and knee and could not get up again so I had a lot of people around me. A young man called Neil who I would like to thank very much was very helpful called the ambulance, which took over 40 minutes to arrive even though it had less than a mile to travel from Worthing Hospital.

It was a cold day and I was getting very cold sitting on the pavement. Fortunately, a fire engine was passing by and stopped and the firemen helped me up. Otherwise I would have been still sitting on the cold pavement which is not very pleasant when you are 67 years old.

I think it is about time the council did something about the state of the pavements outside Beales before someone really gets’ hurt!
