Plans show Littlehampton pool encroaching on woodland

Having looked at the plans for the new swimming pool in Littlehampton and being a user of it myself, I am dismayed by the fact that the building will encroach into the Ruby wood, at the side of Meresbrook Park.

This would require felling some trees and losing part of this beautiful amenity, which I believe is a conservation area.

Surely a bit of imagination could be applied to rearrange the plans using the very large car park to the front, and possibly moving the boat store temporarily elsewhere, and so avoiding the need to destroy part of this wood.
