LETTER: Harmless gulls

Have your say

Simon Prentis wants to get a life.

How on earth is a gull going to kill a baby?

Is his life so narrow that he spends it hounding gulls?

The problem is that we have taken all the fish out of the sea and left the gulls no choice but to scavenge our streets for food.

Do you not understand, Simon Prentis, that at this time of the year the gulls have babies and they are trying to protect them?

It is as simple as that.

Also, if there were no gulls, what a dismal place it would be.

They clear our streets of food that people throw down, which would encourage more rats.

I, for one, won’t be putting pressure on the government to cull gulls.

I would sincerely hope that David Cameron has better things to do.

The screaming of gulls is part of the seaside sound and I find it beautiful.

You take your Gull Awareness Group Cheltenham and leave the gulls alone, as they are only getting on with their life – all they have left after us humans have taken everything from them.

It is bad enough that we have stolen their eggs, shot them, poison them, and all these other dreadful things that we do to harm them.

I have even seen people deliberately running them over with their cars – shame on them.

We should learn to share our life with the wildlife, not kill them.

Down with Gull Awareness Group.
