Confused with all the “information” we have been given?
Just ask yourself a few simple questions, rather than listen to the various “promises” (most of which will not be kept or even remembered after the vote).
Questions to ask yourself;-
Would you invest in an organisation that has never produced any viable accounts?
Would you join an organisation which has two massive Office Blocks (Parliament buildings), one in Brussels and one in Strasbourg, Every month the 732 Euro MPs together with all the interpreters, secretaries together with several lorry loads of paperwork go from Brussels to Strasbourg to conduct their business for about a week and then everything is taken back to Brussels, (This costs approximately £10 million each time). There are two fully stocked libraries for private use of MEPs, one in Brussels and one in Luxembourg (That alone cost about £6.2 million a year).
At the present time the EU spends over £100 million a year propping up the poorer, bankrupt, European members like Greece and if the proposals of Albania, Macedonia, Montenegro, Serbia and Turkey joining the EU goes ahead, the additional cost to England, Germany and France will be horrendous.
There are no verifiable figures as to the total cost or benefits of membership and nobody knows the actual cost of running the EU in its present form as no viable accounts have been produced.
Realistically there is no way David Cameron, or any one else, can modify the EU constitution to give us any real power over our own country and in time, the powers we currently have will gradually be taken away as the EU will have to become a country in its own right with political union/federation/dictatorship to exist.
We have this opportunity to vote out and within a few years will once again be able to stand strong on our own two feet. Whether we stay in or vote out there will probably be a recession in the next year or two, not only in the UK but throughout Europe and many other parts of the World, but by voting out, we will be able to control our own outcome.
We will not be able to pull out on June 23 but once Parliament revokes the European Communities Act of 1972 we can begin to get our country back.
The vote on June 23 will probably be very close so please vote out. If we stay in, think who will be the EU president when it is the UK’s turn in the second half of 2017. Politicians are inclined to look after themselves.
I am not a politician, just an old age pensioner who has experienced life.
